Hook and Hunting: Free Fishing Weekend Happening June 11-12

If you haven’t put a line in the water yet this season, well there is a perfect chance coming soon.

June 11-12 people will be able to enjoy fishing for free. During that time, all fishing fees will be waved for people both in and out of state. This allows people who do not have much experience with fishing to get out and fish.

And local businesses say there are some things first-time fisherman should keep in mind.

“If you go to any sporting goods store or Lyman’s on the Lake here, you can pick up a hand guide for the fishing guide for 2022,” Wayne Jaworski, Owner of Warrior Guiding said. “Inside they’ll tell you the length of the fish, how many you’re allowed to keep and which ones you can and can’t.”

As part of “Three Weekend”, state park entry as well as ORV licenses and permits will be free as well.
