The body of a 20-year-old Manistee man who on Sunday was recovered by search crews Wednesday morning, according to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office.
On Sunday, deputies were notified that Justin Zielinski, 20, of Manistee, had been swimming in Bear Lake, began to struggle and never resurfaced.
The Manistee County Dive Team, Bear Lake Township Fire Department, local boaters and the United States Coast Guard Helicopter helped with the search for Zielinski during the day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The case remains under investigation and additional information is pending examination by the Manistee County Medical Examiner, according to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office.
