Big Rapids Motorcyclist Killed, Remus Driver Arrested For OWI in Isabella County Crash

A motorcyclist was killed and a driver was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol causing death after a crash in Isabella County, according to the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the 45-year-old motorcyclist from Big Rapids was traveling east on Drew Road when a GMC pickup truck, driven by a 58-year-old Remus man, pulled away from a stop sign. The motorcyclist was unable to stop and crashed into the pickup truck, according to Isabella County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon their arrival, first responders told deputies that the motorcyclist was in cardiac arrest, but the man died a short time later.

The driver of the pickup truck, according to the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol causing death.
