Wednesday was a battle of the badges in Cadillac, all to save lives.
The Cadillac Police and Fire Departments hosted a joint blood drive at City Hall.
“Battle of the Badges” is a friendly competition between the two departments for blood donations. Versiti Blood Center reached out looking to create the event, and officers and firefighters were up for the challenge to try to get as many donors as they could.
“Just a fun little competition for blood,” said Austin Reardon, School Resource Officer. “Depending on each side, whoever wins, then will donate a certain amount of money to a local organization.”
Versiti says they are short on their supply, and Wednesday’s challenge helped them get as many people as possible to donate blood and save lives.
