For families displaced in the tornado or kids simply in need of comfort, Toys for Tots is also lending a hand.
They are giving out toys at the Passion of Christ Church in Gaylord. Families in Nottingham Neighborhood were able to pick out toys on Monday to replace the ones lost in the tornado. And the rest of the community is now able to come and pick out toys through Wednesday.
“They’ve gone through a trauma that, you know, that very few of us have ever experienced or hopefully never will experience,” said Mike Hoeft, Otsego-Montmorency County Toys for Tots Coordinator. “So we just want to help those kids out and maybe ease some of the pain. Calm them down.”
If there are still toys Wednesday night, the Passion of Christ Church is hoping to distribute toys in the community as part of their evening service.
