Soo Family Fun Day Provides Free Entertainment to U.P. Families

Several attractions in Sault Ste Marie charged no admission Sunday as part of the Soo Family Fun Day Event.

History MuseumThe Sault Historic Sites and The Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours teamed up to waive their usual fees and accepted donations.

The event was open to all Eastern U.P. residents.

The Tower of History, the River of History Museum, The Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours and the Museum Ship Valley Camp all were busy.

Any monetary donation was accepted to enjoy any one of those attractions.

All money collected will go to the opening of the Soo Locks Children’s Museum on Portage Street.

“I have never been in here before other than the Halloween thing, but this time I get to tour the whole place,” said Larry Willis, who toured the Museum Ship Valley Camp. “I’m excited.  I think it’s wonderful.  I think it’s great.  I’m glad to be a part of it.”

The final count for donations received from today’s event will be known Monday.
