Crystal Mountains Redesigned Bike Park opens Friday. It’s made up of five downhill mountain bike trails.
“We use all 375 feet of our vertical here to maximize how many trails you have coming down. You can think of it as a ski hill,” said Chris Remy, Bike and Race Manager at Crystal Mountain. “We have green trails, blue trails, and a black diamond trail.”
Each trail has mountain bike features taking your ride to the next level.
“We have tabletops, rollers, big berms, wooden drops and rock gardens,” said Remy.
“I’ve always enjoyed the thrill of mountain biking and the fitness aspect,” said Matt Tomlinson. “Just the whole thing together is a ton of fun challenging myself in these situations.”
You don’t even have to bike up the mountain. There’s a chairlift with bike carriers.
“It’s a super simple load. You walk the bike up to the chairlift, and then when the bike gets up to the top, our lift crew will take the bike off for you,” said Remy.
To kick off the opening of the new bike park on Saturday, Crystal Mountain will be hosting a .
“This is definitely for fun,” said Remy. “It’s an opportunity for riders to come out, and they can lay down as many times as they like, and we’ll take their best time.”
Helmets are required, and if you don’t have a bike or helmet, you can rent one.
