Volleyball is temporarily on hold at West End Park in Traverse City.
The Parks and Recreation Department is replacing the sand and putting in new posts.
They began the process at the volleyball courts on Grandview Parkway on Monday. The closure also includes the adjacent parking lot where the new sand is being staged.
The public is asked to use caution in the area to reduce congestion and keep workers safe.
Work will continue into next week.
