Muskegon County Man Arrested for Drug Crimes, Violated Bond in Lake City

A Saginaw man released on bond was arrested May 1 after a Missaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a car he was traveling in. He was arraigned on May 2 on the following charges: carrying concealed weapon, unlawful use of a license plate, allowing un-licensed suspended, revoked, or denied person to operate.

Michiel Doughty was first arrested by the Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT) on March 17 after an anonymous tip said he was transporting a large amount of methamphetamine from the Saginaw area to the Lake City area. TNT Detectives located his car in Lake City, and Michigan State Police (MSP) 7th District Hometown Security Team assisted TNT in conducting a traffic stop for an equipment violation. After receiving his consent to search his car, troopers located a hidden loaded pistol and about 25.94 grams of crystal meth under the gear shifter housing area.

Doughty was arraigned on March 18 on the following charges: firearm, receiving and concealing; weapon, carrying concealed weapon; felony firearm; felon in possession of a firearm; possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine; maintaining a drug house/vehicle; driving while license suspended, revoked, denied; unlawful use of a license plate; and operate a vehicle with no security.
