Show Your Support by Volunteering with ‘Tight Lines For Troops’

Tight Lines for Troops is an annual fishing event held on May 20-21 in Manistee, to help support our local veterans.

It was organized by Captain Bob Guenthardt, a former Ogema of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, and a proud army veteran. Vets

Captain Bob’s fleet of volunteer fishing boat captains, local organizations such as Little River Band of Ottawa Indians Warrior Society, United Veterans Council, Rolling Thunder Michigan Chapter 1, National Guard and U.S. Coast Guard, and many private businesses, and hundreds of volunteers in the state of Michigan join together to make this outstanding event happen.

The mission of this event is to bring our heroes together, and provide veterans with a free fishing tournament to build new connections, share their experiences with one another, and enjoy the sport of fishing.

The public is invited to welcome our veterans “home,” waving flags and cheering them in as the boats return to the city marina.
