What’s Happening in Northern Michigan: Mother’s Day Brunch

It’s almost May, and that means it’s almost Mother’s Day.

Traverse City Uncorked

May is Wine Month, and Traverse City is celebrating with events, lodging packages, tasting specials and more, with Traverse City Uncorked. Beginning May 1, participants can take a self-guided wine tour via a digital mobile phone passport, and can “check in” to Traverse Wine Coast members to take advantage of great specials. Those who check into five wineries can redeem their passport at Traverse City Tourism for a Traverse City Uncorked t-shirt, corkscrew or wine glass. Visitors staying at participating hotels can also register to win a wine themed vacation in Traverse City. Wineries on the trail include Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, Chateau Grand Traverse, Hawthorne Vineyards, Leelanau Cellars and more.

Black Star Farms – Mother’s Day Brunch

Head to Suttons Bay for an extraordinary Mother’s Day Brunch at the elegant Inn at Black Star Farms! Celebrate your family at their beautiful winery estate, located just fifteen minutes from downtown Traverse City. You’ll indulge in an incredible savory brunch at a one-of-a-kind setting that will truly make mom feel pampered this year. After brunch, your family can take a walk around the horse paddocks or through a forest hiking trail for some beautiful views of the property.

Michigan Brewers Guild Spring Beer Festival

Celebrate spring at the Michigan Brewers Guild Spring Beer Festival, on Saturday, May 7th. This outdoor event will feature over 450 fresh, local Michigan beers from some of the finest breweries in Michigan. Head to Turtle Creek Stadium in Traverse City from 1-6 p.m. to enjoy the delightful tastes of Michigan. Admission to the event includes 15 3-ounce beer samples, and the event will also feature live music and food concessions. Tickets can be purchased online at the Michigan Brewers Guild website.
