Two Men Charged In Governor Whitmer Kidnapping Plot File For Acquittal

Acquittal

Two of the men charged with plotting to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer have filed for acquittal after a jury couldn’t reach a verdict on the charges against them.

Lawyers for Adam Fox and Barry Croft filed their acquittal motion in federal court late Friday. They say the government didn’t show enough evidence proving the two men were guilty of charges of kidnapping conspiracy.

The judge declared a mistrial earlier this month after the jury said they couldn’t agree on a verdict.

Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta were also on trial, and were both found not guilty.

A judge will now have to rule on the motions filed by Fox and Croft.
