On Earth Day—what better way to celebrate taking care of the planet than by cleaning it up!
The Manistee Friendship Society took to the U.S. 31 corridor in Manistee to clean up the trash along the road.
The Friendship Society said while it may be Earth Day, they want to give back to the community, too.
“I think it can make people just feel more a part of their community,” said Executive Director Cassandra Kamaloski. “We have so many people who have volunteered and helped us that when we can do that as well, we want to give back, too.”
This year is the 20th anniversary of the Friendship Society.
The Friendship Society hopes to continue the tradition next year.
