Veterans Resource Station

Spring is usually a time when people feel better with more daylight and improving weather.

Veteran SuicideThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says spring is actually a time when suicide rates increase nationwide.  The suicide rate is even higher among veterans.  That’s why the V.A. is giving away gunlocks with the goal of prevention.

According to the V.A., 70% of veteran suicides are by gun, many of them are owned by the veteran.

The V.A. medical center in Saginaw is giving away gun locks free of charge.

You can call 989-497-2500 ext. 11778 to get more information about the free gunlocks and the mental health services available to veterans.
