Connecting Women in Business Group Hosting Fundraising Luncheon April 27 for Go Grants Program

The Connecting Women in Business Group in the Petoskey Chamber of Commerce is putting on a fundraising luncheon April 27 for the Go Grants program.

The Go Grants is a part of the Connecting Women in Business Group in the Chamber of Commerce, and is a program that allows girls in grades five through 10 to be awarded up to $500 each. This allows them to participate in numerous summer activities which can range from summer camps to ballet courses.

The fundraiser is a way to help girls with financial constraints pursue things that they’re interested in, whether that’s learning a new valuable skill or just making new friends.

“We wanted young women and girls to have opportunities to dream big, and to remove barriers for them in participating in these activities,” said Lisa Hoyt, membership Director, Petoskey Chamber. “For many of them, they would not be able to participate without this financial assistance.”

The luncheon will be held at Sage Restaurant, Odawa Casino and there will be a silent auction to help raise funds for girls that want to participate within the program. Tickets are priced at $50 with $25 going directly to the grants program. Registration for the event closes April 22 at 5 p.m.
