Lake Street Bridge in Boyne City is Undergoing Repairs

Construction crews have begun their project on repairing the Lake Street bridge in Boyne City.

Damage was accumulated over time on the west side of the bridge because of high Lake Charlevoix water levels.

The sidewalk on the west side of the bridge will be closed, along with temporary road traffic lane shifts. While drivers may experience some delays, the contractor expects to maintain two-way traffic.

Improvements to the bridge will result in replaced abutments on the west side of the bridge, to protect against rising water levels. New rails and sidewalks will also be installed.

The work is expected to take around one month.
