Cadillac Troopers Arrest Two Men for Possession of Methamphetamine

Two men have been arrested in Wexford County for having meth, according to Michigan State Police.

On Sunday at approximately 12:55 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post conducted a traffic stop on Mitchell Street near Bell Avenue in Haring Township. The driver, Collin Williams from Harrison, did not have a driver’s license nor could he provide proof of insurance for the car.

Troopers asked William’s to exit the car and he was handcuffed. While troopers conducted a search of William’s they found two empty plastic baggies in his pockets and a syringe cap.

After towing the car from the scene, troopers did an inventory and located a clear plastic baggie on the driver side floor that contained about 10 grams of methamphetamine.

Troopers also found a plastic baggie that contained about one gram of methamphetamine in the possession of the passenger, John Staats from Lake City. He also had a bag holding a syringe, a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine, a mirror and a torch.

Williams was arraigned on one count Possession Methamphetamine, one count Second or Subsequent Offense Notice, one count Driving While License Suspended and Habitual Offender Third Offense.

Staats was arraigned on one count Possession Methamphetamine, one count Secord or Subsequent Offense Notice and Habitual Offender Second Offense.
