Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Montcalm County

Michigan State Police were called to the intersection of W. Carson City Rd., or M-57, and Backus Rd. in Montcalm County’s Eureka Township just after 3 Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle attempted to pass multiple vehicles on M-57, when it rear ended a pick-up truck that was turning left onto Backus Rd.

Both the driver and a passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. Neither were wearing a helmet.

A 30-year-old woman from Carson City who was riding on the back of the motorcycle died in the crash.

The driver, a 29-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
