Mackinaw Trail Pediatrics Celebrates Uniqueness of Down Syndrome Community

This World Down Syndrome Day, Mackinac Trail Pediatrics in Cadillac is celebrating the uniqueness of individuals with Down Syndrome by doing something unique themselves.

Staff wore colorful mismatched socks to raise awareness and celebrate the Down Syndrome community.

They hope that wearing their fun combination of socks will help open discussion about Down Syndrome and give people the opportunity to ask questions.

“World Down Syndrome day is just to bring awareness to our friends with Down Syndrome and just to make people aware that they’re unique and special in their own way,” said Renae Katona of Mackinaw Trail Pediatrics.

“Rock Your Socks Day” has become an annual event to support a good cause.
