More than 20 People Compete In The R.C. Racing Event In Sault Ste. Marie

Racers in Sault Ste. Marie took part in the Eastern U.P. R.C racing event on Saturday.

The competition is put on by K.C. Hobbies & Toys in St. Ignace.

The course was set up inside the soo armory.

Kids from Kids At Heart participated with 23 racers competing for bragging rights.

There were 8 races with different skill levels.

The organizer has been racing over three decades, even on the national level.

He says there are so many race classes to compete in, but in the end, it’s all about having fun.

“It’s like a million dollars on the line, but we don’t race for the money. But that’s the attitude we have, it’s like we are out there to win! But there’s also classes, like the little mini’s, we are just up there talking, chatting, having fun,” said Casey Brake of K.C Hobbies & Toys.

There will be another, even bigger, competition on April 9th.
