An Upper Peninsula Undersheriff is currently facing drunk driving charges.
Houghton County Undersheriff Kevin Coppo was arrested in early March after hitting a parked car in the parking lot of Great Wolf Lodge.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office says Coppo’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and was discovered by deputies to have been driving while intoxicated.
Coppo is also being charged with failure to stop after a collision and refusing a breath test.
He has been placed on a leave of absence and will appear in court in late March.
