Lake City Area Firemen’s Association to Host State’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt in April

Easter0The Lake City Area Firemen’s Association is looking to spread a little Easter joy with the largest egg hunt in the state next month.

Their “Eggstravaganza” will take place on April 16 at Maple Grove Park.

They will have, at minimum, 30,000 eggs for kids to hunt for, along with other activities and prizes.

After Covid cancelled the past two years’ Eggstravaganza events, the firemen are looking forward to bringing the event back to the community.

“Doing these events lets us get back to normal, lets us get past the Covid thing a little bit and get back towards normal,” said Lake City Area Fire Department Deputy Chief Fred West

The association is looking for donations of raffle prizes and people to volunteer the day of the event.

They’re grateful for the donations they’ve received so far.

Lake City Area Fire Dept. Captain Joe Kowalski with around 20,000 packed eggs for the Eggstravaganza.

“Lake City is wonderful,” West said. “The Firemen’s Association hosts this event, but we couldn’t do it with our the help of the businesses and the community.”
