Art on the Tart Offer Artists Opportunity to Display Work Along TART Trail

The Traverse City Art Commission and TART Trails are teaming up to ask local artists for help. Once again, they are looking to add a piece of art next to Boardman Lake.

Art On The Tart 16th StreetThe Traverse City Art Commission and TART Trails first teamed up last fall to add a piece of art at the 10th Street trailhead along the Boardman Lake Trail in downtown Traverse City.

The Art Commission, along with TART Trails and the Downtown Development Authority, are working together to add another piece of art along the Boardman Lake Trail.

This time, they are targeting a section off 16th Street.

The new artwork will sit next to Boardman Lake Trail and overlook Boardman Lake.

The C.O.O. of Traverse City’s Downtown Development Authority, Harry Burkholder, says the collaboration with TART Trails and the Arts Commission is great for the community and local artists.

“Traverse City is a great community with lots of artists and this is just a great opportunity to have their art represented here in Traverse City,” Burkholder said.

Artists interested in submitting their work can find application details here.

The deadline for artists to submit their work is Friday, April 8.
