Cornhole Tournament Takes Place This Weekend To Help Cadillac Student Athletes

Cadillac Athletics is hosting their second annual Viking Boosters Cornhole Tournament at the Wexford Civic Center this Saturday. All proceeds from the event goes to Cadillac Middle School Athletic fees. The money will help pay for any equipment or fees for students throughout the year.

“Sports offer great opportunities for kids and the fees can sometimes be a lot,” said Holly Penonni, Secretary for Cadillac Athletics Viking Boosters. “By us raising funds, it helps cover some of those costs, so that all kids can participate in sports and have that opportunity.”

The mission of the Cadillac Viking Boosters is “to provide financial, volunteer and fan support for the full range of athletic programs sponsored by Cadillac Area Public Schools.”

For this year’s tournament, it’s $30 dollars per person and two people per team. Each team member is expected to register individually and you can register in-person the day of the event. The tournament starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m.

This year’s cornhole boards were made by Mr. Stange’s woodshop class at Cadillac Schools.
