Dogs Seized from East Bay Twp. Property Move One Step Closer to Adoption

The dogs involved in a large-scale seizure from an are moving one step closer to adoption.

On Tuesday, some of the 143 dogs remaining under the care of Grand Traverse County Animal Control will be cleared to head to partnering agencies, while the others will remain at Cherryland Humane Society to eventually be adopted out. Cherryland Humane Society has been housing and caring for the dogs since the seizure on .

Dogs will also be transferred to Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, Charlevoix Humane Society and Otsego County Animal Control for adoption. Anyone interested in adopting a dog can contact these individual agencies.

“Our team may be the lead in the seizure of these dogs, but we were fortunate to have a lot of dedicated people standing next to us to help. Grand Traverse County Animal Control could not have done this alone,” said Jaime Croel, Grand Traverse County Animal Control Supervisor. “These dogs now have a second chance at a better life and it took a village to make it happen.”
