Health Dept. of Northwest Michigan Distributing Free KN95 Masks

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan, which serves Antrim, Charlevoix, Emmet and Otsego Counties, says they are continuing to pass out free KN95 face masks to community members at their office locations.

They say the free face masks will be on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.

All offices, which are located in Bellaire, Charlevoix, Gaylord, Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Mancelona, are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, they are closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

In addition to office locations, the Health Department of Northwest Michigan has distributed KN95 masks to multiple partners to distribute masks for free.

This includes local libraries, emergency management services, food pantries and some churches. For information about distribution opportunities, contact your local agency.

Additionally, the health department states that staff recommends staying up to date on your COVID-19 vaccine and upgrading your mask to a high filtration respirator such as a KN95.

They say wearing masks along with receiving the vaccine are their best tools against the coronavirus.

Eligible Michiganders can schedule their vaccination or booster dose .
