Cape Coral, Florida Woman Passes Away After Emmet County Car Crash

A Cape Coral, Florida woman has passed away after a car crash on US-31 in Emmet County.

On Thursday, deputies with the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious injury crash on US-31 in the area of Conway Commons in Conway, according to Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin.

Deputies say a 2009 Chevrolet pickup driven by Kayleb Wilson, 27, of Boyne City lost control on snowy/icy roads and collided head-on with a 1999 Chevrolet SUV driven by Lisa Blank, 56, of Cape Coral, Florida.

Deputies state Blank was declared deceased at the scene by EMS.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigators investigated the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Emmet County EMS, Michigan State Police Troopers, Alanson Fire Department and First Responders, Emmet County Road Commission, and Conway Towing.
