Police: Body Believed to be of Missing Brendan Santo Found

Michigan State University Police and Public Safety announced Friday that a body believed to be that of missing 18-year-old Brendan Santo wasSanto 3 recovered from the Red Cedar River Friday afternoon.

According to MSU Police and Public Safety, the body was discovered at 12:30 p.m. Friday, about 1.5 miles downriver of where Santo was last seen. The body is believed to be that of Santo, but identification is still pending.

Law enforcement say they do not believe foul play is involved or that Santo intended to harm himself.

Originally from downstate Rochester Hills, Santo, a student at Grand Valley State, went missing on Friday, Oct. 29 and was last seen leaving Yakeley Hall shortly before midnight. The search for Santo has lasted more than 80 days.
