Michigan health officials are reporting 86,009 coronavirus cases and 501 deaths since Friday, Jan. 14.
According to the MDHHS, between Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the average number of new cases per day is approximately 17,202.
Additionally, they say 346 of the 501 deaths reported Wednesday were identified during a review of vital records.
In total, Michigan has had 1,832,716 confirmed coronavirus cases and 28,890 total confirmed covid-related deaths.
As of Tuesday, 5,489,921 Michiganders ages five and older have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Additionally, 6,446,975 Michiganders, or 64.6%, ages 16 and older have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Furthermore, the MDHHS reports that as of Jan. 14, 1,382,066 Michiganders have recovered from the coronavirus.
According to , 540 adult patients were admitted to Michigan hospitals on Wednesday with a positive covid status.
Of those 540 patients, 61% were reported to be unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, while 39% were reported to be fully vaccinated.

As of Wednesday, 4,453 adult patients and 114 pediatric patients are hospitalized with the coronavirus.
Of those 4,453 adult patients, 783 are currently occupying ICU beds. Of those 783 patients, 495 are currently in the ICU on ventilators with a positive COVID status.
