Big Brothers, Big Sisters Receives $5,000 Donation
Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan received a grand donation this afternoon.
The organization was awarded $5,000 dollars from Floor Covering Brokers in Traverse City.
This will provide critical funding for their Big Futures Program.
This was created to help young adults in the program develop and achieve their goals.
According to Director of Mentoring Krista Goldman, the Big Futures Program includes the opportunity to help littles with scholarships, college applications, internships and other means of financial support.
“I think it’s good to know that age group, our teens in our community, just really need our help right now,” Goldman said. “We have more and more middle school and high school youth applying for a mentoring program, which shows that during this time, especially during the pandemic, they need our support and our guidance.”
