“We always say that the earlier, the better—our bagels tend to go fast, especially on the weekends, especially in the summer, and the earlier that you can get in, the more likely you’ll get the flavor you want,” said Brickman.

Today is National Bagel Day and the perfect reason to visit your local bagel shops.

Bubbie’s Bagels is one spot with a variety of specials for the rest of the week.

They opened their shop just two years ago, on East Front Street near Downtown Traverse City.

Ever since, the bagel varieties have grown and so have the customers.

If you were unable to enter their drawing for a free dozen bagels today, there are still new menu items to stop in for.

Owner Sam Brickman says they love to experiment with new bagel sandwiches and cream cheese flavors.

“We have a couple specialty cream cheeses this week as well,” said Brickman. “We have a buttered rum raisin which is really tasty, a little bit on the sweeter side, and then we also have a specialty vegan schmear.”

For hours and the full menu, you can visit their website .
