This Monday, we as a nation commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The United Way and AmeriCorps is committed to maintaining Dr. King’s legacy by encouraging volunteer service in every community across the country.

is doing their part by hosting a virtual Zoom event.

Terri Wolski is new to the Retired and Senior Volunteer program.

Monday at 10am, she will be reading the book , at the United Way Office.

The book was written to remind young readers that they have the power to shape the world.

“This is my first time reading, so I am looking forward to it,” says Woski.

“It sounded like just the right fit, as I love helping people. And as a retired teacher, I always loved reading aloud. It’s critically important, no matter what your age is, especially when we can show children what we know is best, and include everyone.”

United Way of the EUP’s David Brey adds, “It’s very important to recognize diversity and celebrate it with each other, and especially through volunteerism through your community. That’s the dream!”
