January always feels like a long month, so if you need some ideas for fun in northern Michigan this month we’ve got you covered.

Traverse Symphony Orchestra
The Traverse Symphony Orchestra will be performing this weekend in-person with the entire full-sized orchestra for the first time in nearly 2 years! Their “Orchestra Spectacular” program is scheduled for this Sunday afternoon at Corson Auditorium at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. The performance will be full of symphonic highlights, featuring fun, familiar music from the theatre, ballroom, and concert hall. You can find tickets on the TSO’s website, with special discounts for students and first-time symphony attendees.
The Highlands at Harbor Springs
You can plan to join The Highlands at Harbor Springs, formerly known as Boyne Highlands Resort, next weekend for their Anniversary Weekend! They’re welcoming back all past guests to spend three days making new memories, while also sharing past memories. They have fun planned from January 21-23, including encouraging guests to dress in throwback outfits to 1963 when the resort opened, a chance to participate in the “Sno-Go Hot Cocoa Hustle Relay Race,” fireworks, and lots more family fun.
Ludington Craft Beer Festival
Ludington’s annual winter Craft Beer Festival is coming up on January 29, and also features wines, ciders and meads. Over 25 Michigan crafters will be on hand to pour your favorites, or let you try something new! They’ll pull you out of the winter doldrums with live musical entertainment, food, drinks, friends, and fun. You can get pre-sale tickets online for the “Pure Ludington Brrrewfest” for a discounted rate prior to the festival on the Jan 29.
