Car Crashes Into BC Pizza in Kalkaska, No One Injured

No one was hurt Wednesday when a driver crashed into the BC Pizza in Kalkaska.

The owners of the restaurant say it happened around 3:30 p.m. Customers were leaving the dining area and one of the restaurant’s owners was about to enter the dining area when there was a loud crash. The car just missed employees.

The kitchen is the only part of the restaurant that was not damaged in the crash.

“The kitchen can’t be used right now,” say owners Niki and Kati Hammontree. “We’re waiting on a special engineer to make sure the building is sound so that we can get in it. We have a construction crew on staff waiting to help us out as soon as we can get in there and open up. We’re planning on doing curbside and delivery as soon as humanly possible.”

The owners say it’s not clear what led to the crash, but they were told alcohol was not a factor.
