I-95 In Virginia Finally Clear After More Than 24 Hours

I-95 in Northern Virginia is finally cleared and drivers are able to start making their way home after a massive winter storm hit the east coast.

Some drivers reported being stuck in their cars for more than 24 hours in freezing temperatures.

That includes Senator Tim Kaine, who says he was stuck for 26 hours with nothing to eat.

40 miles of I-95 have been at a near standstill after more than a foot of snow blanketed the region.

One driver said she kept her kids warm by covering them in clothes they had packed in their luggage.

Officials are blaming heavy rain that fell ahead of the snow storm, keeping them from treating the highway.
