With Winterfest events coming to Lake City and Cadillac soon, social media scams have been caught misleading local vendors.
Cadillac’s Winterfest will take place at Resurrection Life Church on Jan. 30.
Meanwhile, a larger-scale festival under the same name will be held in Lake City on Feb. 5.
Reports of scams related to these events have been circulating on Facebook.
Scammers are asking vendors for their payment information in Messenger and using false addresses.
The Cadillac Chamber of Commerce warns community members to look out for red flags on these posts.
