Michigan health officials are reporting 61,235 new coronavirus cases and 298 deaths since Thursday.
The MDHHS did not update coronavirus data due to the New Year’s holiday Friday.
According to the MDHHS, between Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the average number of new cases per day is 12,247.
Additionally, they say 172 of the 298 deaths reported Monday were identified during a review of vital records.
In total, Michigan has had 1,568,573 confirmed coronavirus cases and 27,286 total confirmed covid-related deaths.
As of Dec. 28, 5,398,758 Michiganders ages five and older have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
As of Dec. 29, 6,328,657 Michiganders ages 16 and older have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
