Public transportation in Benzie County is making it easier for senior citizens to get healthcare.
Benzie Bus and Benzie Senior Resources are expanding their partnership to provide non-emergency medical transportation for area seniors.
It’s called Health Rides, and they’ll offer rides direct from home to the doctor’s office or healthcare treatment centers.
Rides are $15 one-way, but some financial assistance is available.
The service is expected to start after the new year.
In the meantime, they’ll be conducting a survey and taking input on how best to meet transportation needs for patients.
