There’s new developments in the Shannon Siders murder case in Newaygo County.
A key witness in the case now says he lied while testifying during the 2015 murder trial of her convicted killers.
Brothers Matthew and Paul Jones were convicted in 2015 of killing Shannon Siders in Newaygo County back in 1989.
Dean Robinson testified during the trial, and now says he lied on the witness stand.
He said in an affidavit his testimony was given to him by law enforcement, and he never saw Matthew or Paul involved in a homicide.
Attorney’s for the Jones brothers are now waiting for a hearing to see if the affidavit is enough for a new trial.
The Attorney General’s Office says they have been in touch with prosecutors in Newaygo County about it.
