Moderna Says Its Booster Is Effective Against Omicron

Moderna now says their COVID-19 booster shot is effective at protecting people against the Omicron variant.

It’s good news as the more infectious strain spreads across the globe.

On Monday, Israel placed both the U.S. and Canada on the coronavirus travel red list because of Omicron variant concerns.

Hospitals here are already bracing for another winter surge.

Most places are already working at capacity, sending patients they can’t serve to the smaller clinics that have room.

Many of their inpatient beds are dedicated just for COVID-19 patients, who often need to stay several weeks.

Medical experts say the new Omicron variant could be responsible for nearly a million new cases each day in the near future.
