Marion Public Schools Closing Due to Safety Concerns

Marion Public Schools is dismissing all students at 1 p.m. today and will remain closed until Monday, Dec. 13, for safety concerns.

On Wednesday, Marion Junior-Senior High School received notice of a threat. According to the school district, the student was immediately sent home and police were notified.

The school district says that it currently has two active police investigations concerning potential threats.

According to a letter from the superintendent, all school activities will be canceled during this time period.
