Former Kansas senator and Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole has died at the age of 98.

He’s being remembered for his lifetime of service to the country, first on the battlefield and then as a lawmaker.

Dole was the last presidential candidate who served in World War II.

He was injured while serving and lost the use of one arm.

Dole spent 27 years in the Senate before quitting his post as majority leader in an all-out bid to defeat Bill Clinton in presidential election of 1996.

President Biden said Dole was “a statesman like few in our history.”
