Last year, the event was streamed virtually from a private location.

Now, the city is looking forward to having everyone return downtown.

The ball drop will be accepting donations once again for Food Rescue.

Back in 2019, they raised over $10,000 dollars.

Kat Paye with the National Cherry Festival talks about what people can expect on New Years Eve.

“Park Street and Front Street will be where all the festivities are, gates open at 10:30 p.m. with entertainment starting not long after,” Paye said. “Then just before midnight, we will go ahead and raise the 500 pound cherry, all lit up, and drop it to celebrate and ring in 2022 followed by some fireworks.”

Masks will not be required, but they are strongly encouraged outside.
