Ghislaine Maxwell Faces Up To 80 Years In Prison

The trial of Ghislaine Maxwell is underway in New York.

Maxwell is accused of grooming underage girls for exploitation by longtime companion, American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

She faces six charges with the potential of up to 80 years in prison if convicted. Maxwell pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Prosecutors say Maxwell is a predator who created a network of underage victims for Epstein.

The defense argues that Maxwell is being used as a scapegoat for Epstein’s abuse.

The trial is expected to last six weeks.
