The Position: We are searching for a farmer to lead a new and exciting project and take ownership of a Community Supported Agriculture program.  CSA’s are a growing social and agricultural movement that produce high quality produce that supports the local community.  This full-time farming position, will play a key role as we look to further connect our communities, and provide food that entices you to cook, eat, promote a healthy lifestyle and share with your neighbors and friends.

  • Oversee and implement year-round planting prep, seeding, transplanting, water usage, weed and pest management, succession planting, and harvesting schedules for intensive vegetable production, food forests, pasture and orchard areas.
  • Execute implementation of landscape design plan, including sourcing and purchasing of all necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Create, maintain and evolve methods for tracking farm operations and data, including crop plans, energy and labor consumption, harvest log, germination rate, planting schedule, growth schedule, soil and nutrition management and soil testing across all farm areas.
  • Manage weekly farm schedule, and farm-wide policies and procedures.
  • Manage all farm distribution efforts, including farm stands, CSA and wholesale and donation distribution.
  • Develop and maintain farm infrastructure.



  • Education and/or Experience – 1-3+ years of verifiable farm experience.
  • Ability to work extended hours during the busy season.
  • Able to handle routine maintenance and general labor.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Creative and able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Motivated, with a passion for agriculture.


The Location: Heritage Broadcasting is based in beautiful Northern Michigan.  The position will be located in Cadillac, Michigan.
