The trial of Ghislaine Maxwell is set to start today more than two years after the jailhouse suicide of Jeffrey Epstein.
Federal prosecutors allege Maxwell was Epstein’s accomplice in a massive sex trafficking conspiracy involving under-age girls.
The 59-year-old international socialite has denied any role in Epstein’s crimes.
Maxwell was arrested back in July of 2020 at a remote property in New Hampshire.
She is being held in a Brooklyn federal jail.
The sex trafficking trial is expected to last about six weeks, but she could face another court date next year on charges of perjury.
