Traverse City Embraces Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday has become a popular shopping day, following Black Friday.

Today, cities all across Michigan seemed to embrace it, especially Traverse City.

Not even what felt like a mini blizzard, could stop local shoppers.

Many stores downtown held special deals and limited time offers.

M-22 General Manager Jonny Tornga loved seeing so many people supporting local businesses, despite the snow.

“This is very timely, I feel like we’re in a snow globe—tis’ the season,” Tornga said. “We have Christmas music on in the store and yeah…happy shoppers!”

Shopping local also keeps the money local.

This weekend was definitely a good one for those working downtown.
