The MTM crew is sharing a few secret family recipes for Thanksgiving this Thursday morning.

Lauren is serving up sweet potatoes, Adam cooked a corn casserole (or as the Bartelmays call it, “corn crap”), and Madison has a delicious chocolate pie for dessert.

You can watch the crew in the kitchen and take a look at the recipes below.

Adam’s Corn Casserole

  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 1 can cream corn
  • 1 package corn muffin mix
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 8 oz. sour cream

Mix and pour into a two quart casserole dish. Bake for 1 hour at 350°F.

Lauren’s Sweet Potatoes

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • ½ pint heavy whipping cream

Topping

  • ¼ pound butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup bread flour
  • 1 ¼ cups chopped pecans

Butter a two quart casserole dish. In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, sugar, vanilla, eggs and cream. Blend well and spread into casserole dish.

For topping, combine the butter, brown sugar, flour and pecans. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle over sweet potato mixture.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.

*Madison’s recipe was just too secret to share, but she wishes every a happy Thanksgiving!
