Michigan health officials are reporting 14,561 new coronavirus cases and 242 additional deaths since Monday.
According to the MDHHS, between Tuesday and Wednesday, the average number number of new cases per day is approximately 7,281 cases per day.
Additionally, they say 177 of the 242 deaths reported Wednesday were identified during a review of vital records.
In total, Michigan has had 1,224,273 total confirmed coronavirus cases and 23,104 total confirmed covid-related deaths.
Currently, 5,155,779 Michiganders ages five and older have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
And as of Tuesday, 5,687,050 Michiganders ages 16 and older have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
According to , 3,197 adult Michiganders and 51 children are currently hospitalized due to the coronavirus.
They say 682 of the 3,197 adult patients hospitalized due to the coronavirus are occupying ICU beds, and 385 of those 682 are on ventilators.
Additionally, they say 487 adult patients were admitted to hospitals across the state with a positive coronavirus status. This includes 69% of those who are partially or not vaccinated, and 31% who are vaccinated.
