in Leelanau County is making a big impact with their home grown wines.
In this week’s Brewvine, Whitney Amann and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson show you how they’re reaching new heights with their beautifully blended artisan series.
“We feel like the mission of Blustone is to make wines that will be respected nationally and then to create an experience for people that connects them to not just our product but our people and the place that we call home here,” said co-owner Tom Knighton.
Home grown wine that can compete on a national level is the mission for Blustone Vineyards.
Blustone’s artisan series wines are making a big impression on their guests, starting with a beautifully blended white wine.
Once the weather gets colder, Blustone has some snowshoeing or cross country skiing trails through the vineyard. Or you can relax by the fireplace while you enjoy a guided tasting flight, or have a glass of red wine that also comes from their artisan series.
A nearly perfect growing season has them excited about wines you’ll see at their tasting room in the near future, especially their pinot noir.
“We’re just really excited about the 2021 harvest,” said Knighton. “We had an amazing growing season.”
